We are a mystery school that has provided the teachings of the Diamond Approach to the world for 45 years. The way we have taught this spiritual body of knowledge is through ongoing groups that gather regularly in person for weekends and retreats.
Since COVID-19 began, we moved all of our current in-person groups online for the sake of safety. We have been inspired by the kinds of experiences that emerged from this transition to gathering online, and we feel the real possibility of offering an ongoing group in this online format.
We are inviting new students who value spiritual illumination, who sincerely want to know the truth of life and reality, to join us for a living laboratory that we intend to become our first Diamond Heart Online group (DHON1).
Our intention is to develop an international group of committed students, of many cultures and backgrounds, that can go on for some years. This is a novel opportunity for those who want to engage with this path in an ongoing way but are unable to participate in our usual, preferred, in-person style. This group is for new students only.
The best way to learn more is to participate in courses like this from our introductory series, Walking the Diamond Path. Here you may experientially explore the teachings of the school with the founders of the Diamond Approach, long-time Diamond Approach students, and other seekers, lovers, adventurers of consciousness who are new to the path.
Presence is a commonly used term these days, but what does it actually mean to “be here now”? And how do we stay present in a world that is rife with conflict, violence, and unprecedented challenges?
Perhaps one of the biggest obstacles we face in being present is that we tend to believe the problem is outside of us. We may feel we can’t really be present because of the state of the world or our government; because our partner or friend is a certain way; or maybe our job is stressful and we are struggling to find balance raising children during a pandemic. We find many different reasons why we can’t really be here and relax into the present moment.
But what we come to realize as we begin to work with presence is that the obstacles are actually inside of us—that we all have blocks and unconscious material that prevent us from fully being here. The good news is that as we learn to look inside ourselves in an honest and precise way, things begin to open and those blocks transform, becoming doorways into the gifts of true presence.

Ways that presence can help us step fully into the world, while at the same time knowing we are beyond it

“How can we be a part of the solution for the next steps humanity needs to take? Only if we are deeply real ourselves. That sense of being real means facing one’s own difficult parts, of opening up to those parts of ourselves that we try to project out on others or try to manipulate in some way. To be really sincere about all that, we need to become present in a more deep way.”
- Christof Bosch, Diamond Approach teacher
“What we believe strength is, what we believe will is, what we believe love is, what we believe acceptance is... When we unveil all of those beliefs, we come to presence.”
- Karen Johnson, co-founder of the Diamond Approach

Karen Johnson is the co-developer of the Diamond Approach as it is taught in the Ridhwan School today, having worked alongside Hameed Ali (A. H. Almaas) for the last 40 years. Karen was trained in art and dance and began the journey into the spiritual universe at 14 years old with the guidance of her parents.
First, she was introduced to yoga and meditation and then learned about other forms of spiritual practice, which allowed her to develop her innate paranormal capacities. After attending California College of Arts and Crafts, she befriended Hameed Ali, and with him began a new trajectory into the secrets of the universe of Being, which became the Diamond Approach. Karen also received an MA in psychology at JFK University in 1990 and is the author of two books, The Jeweled Path: The Biography of the Diamond Approach to Inner Realization and The Power of Divine Eros: The Illuminating Force of Love in Everyday Life. She continues to venture into new explorations of the endless realms of our miraculous Nature.
Christof Bosch grew up in Germany, but his father was connected to Ananda Mayee Ma, a spiritual teacher in Northern India. Christof met her in his teens and found himself on an inner journey that led him to the Diamond Approach 20 years later. In between, Christof’s search brought him to ecology and philosophy. After studying forestry, he worked as a consultant for soil ecology and for many years he run an organic farm in Bavaria, where he still lives. He is a teacher of the Diamond Approach since 2006.
“Ridhwan” is a Sufi word. It means “satisfied and satisfying.” Our school, home to more than 4,000 students across the globe, has the potential to both help you to be fulfilled and to help others be fulfilled. Students learn to ground, sensitize, recognize, and trust the inherent guidance of Being.
The Diamond Approach is the core teaching of the Ridhwan School, a spiritual path that approaches our ordinary experiences, emotions, and sensations in a friendly way of understanding. This radical acceptance of our situation allows something to come through that puts us in touch with our spirituality.
In the Diamond Approach, everything we experience is utilized as a doorway to our spiritual nature. Rather than negating or seeking to transcend parts of our humanness that are considered barriers to realization, we learn to approach each aspect of our physical, emotional, and mental experience with acceptance and open curiosity to discover its truth. We do meditation and other exercises, but the main method is inquiry: non-judgment of what we’re experiencing, which brings crisp clarity into one’s own truth.
A recording of the online workshop, you’ll hear talks from Karen and Christof, participate in guided meditations and experiential exercises, and learn from other participants in the Q&A portions.
